Sheila E.'s second album and her most cinematic — structured as a film in two reels with tracks listed as "scenes," Romance 1600 is a Prince-adjacent funk and synth-pop odyssey produced, arranged, and written entirely by Sheila Escovedo herself. The centrepiece is the sprawling 12-minute A Love Bizarre, co-written and featuring Prince, one of the defining moments of mid-'80s Minneapolis funk. Mastered by Bernie Grundman and engineered by Susan Rogers and Peggy McCreary. Comes with the original inner sleeve featuring lyrics, credits, and photos.
