One of Tangerine Dream's most acclaimed albums — three long-form electronic pieces totalling nearly 40 minutes, recorded August/September 1979 at Hansa Studios Berlin (the legendary studio where Bowie recorded Heroes and Lodger). Composed, performed, produced, and mixed by Edgar Froese and Christopher Franke, with Klaus Krüger on drums and Eduard Meyer on cello and engineering. Mastered by George Piros (runout etch confirmed). Cover painting and design by Monique Froese. US Virgin International pressing — back cover variant: fine print runs “Virgin International” through “Printed in U.S.A.” on a single line in plain text, without the Jem logotype (distinguishes this from the standard commercial variant). Side A is the 18-minute title suite Force Majeure; Side B opens with Cloudburst Flight (7:21) and closes with the 14-minute Thru Metamorphic Rocks. NM vinyl in VG+ sleeve.
