The debut album from Vancouver AOR/melodic hard rock band Boulevard — and despite being a first record from a regional act, the production credentials are exceptional. Recorded at Ocean Sound Studio and Little Mountain Sound Studios, Vancouver — the studio behind Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet, Aerosmith’s Permanent Vacation, and Mötley Crüe’s Girls, Girls, Girls, and the epicentre of 1980s commercial hard rock production in North America. Mixed at Little Mountain by Mike Fraser, who would go on to engineer and mix AC/DC’s The Razor’s Edge and Black Ice. Remixed by Bob Rock — at this point a rising Vancouver producer who would soon helm Mötley Crüe’s Dr. Feelgood and Metallica’s Black Album — and Humberto Gatica (Michael Jackson, Celine Dion). Mastered at Sterling Sound by George Marino, the mastering engineer behind AC/DC, Def Leppard, and KISS’s most commercially successful records. Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) process noted in the runout. Produced by Pierre Bazinet; engineered by Howard Rissin and Pat Glover. Photography by Jim Cummins; art direction by Jeff Adamoff. Canadian Cinram pressing, manufactured for MCA Records Canada; the four-point MAPL icons on the label confirm 100% Canadian Content (Music, Artist, Performance, Lyrics). Label variant: band name appears in plain text “BLVD.” rather than the street sign logo used on other Canadian pressings of this title. Sleeve has a punched cutout mark; otherwise VG+. Vinyl NM.
