A Canadian big band swing record of genuine collector interest for its pressing provenance and institutional origin. Released on Columbia with a co-release catalogue number on the Canadian Talent Library (CTL S5254) — the CTL was a non-profit Canadian broadcasting initiative that produced and distributed Canadian-content recordings specifically for radio broadcast use; records issued with CTL catalogue numbers are relatively uncommon in the secondary market as they were primarily distributed to broadcasters rather than retail. Recorded and mixed at Eastern Sound, Toronto — one of Canada’s most significant recording facilities of the era, where Anne Murray, Gordon Lightfoot, and Rush all recorded; pressed, mastered, and lacquer cut at the Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Don Mills, Ontario; printed by Shorewood Packaging Corp. of Canada; manufactured by CBS Records Canada Ltd. Arranged and directed by Micky Erbe; vocal group arrangements by Laurie Bower; produced by Jackie Rae; engineered by Peter Mann. Front cover photography by Mike Filey — a well-known Toronto historian and author. The sleeve shows signs consistent with library use (your notes: cover looks like it came from a library) and some surface marks on the vinyl; graded accordingly.
