Factory sealed Canadian MCA/Decca pressing of the second greatest hits compilation from Bill Anderson — one of Nashville’s most durable and prolific country artists, known as “Whisperin’ Bill” for his distinctively soft vocal style. Active on the charts continuously from the late 1950s through the 1970s, Anderson wrote hits for dozens of artists as well as himself; his songwriting credits include “City Lights” (Ray Price), “But You Know I Love You” (later recorded by Kenny Rogers), and many others. This compilation draws from his late-1960s/early-1970s Decca catalogue: eleven tracks including Quits, Wild Week-End, Me, But You Know I Love You, Love Is A Sometimes Thing, and the 4:59 album closer Where Have All Our Heroes Gone. Manufactured and distributed by MCA Records (Canada) under licence from MCA Records Inc., USA; issued in MCA sleeve. Art direction by Hal Buksbaum. Sealed Mint throughout.
