US Capitol Records Pressing Plant, Los Angeles pressing of Fleetwood Mac’s landmark double LP — identified by the ✶ (asterisk) stamp and “LW” runout sequence in the hand-etched matrix strings, with “MASTERED BY CAPITOL” machine stamped. One of the most musically ambitious major-label double albums of the era — reportedly costing $1 million USD to record, and a deliberate artistic departure from the polished pop-rock of Rumours. Produced by Fleetwood Mac, Ken Caillat, and Richard Dashut; recorded at The Village Recorder (with some tracks recorded by Lindsey Buckingham at home); mastered and lacquer cut by Ken Perry at Capitol Mastering. The title track (Tusk, D4) was recorded live at Dodger Stadium featuring the 112-piece USC Trojan Marching Band; digital mix-down equipment furnished by Soundstream Inc. Twenty tracks across four sides: Lindsey Buckingham’s angular new-wave songwriting (The Ledge, Not That Funny), Stevie Nicks’ sweeping compositions (Sara, 6:26; Sisters Of The Moon; Storms), and Christine McVie’s melodic contributions (Think About Me, Brown Eyes). Issued with double inner jackets: thick card inners with photos and artwork, plus two additional slightly larger outer inners for easy insertion — both sets numbered 1–4. Front cover features embossed photo of dog and leg. Album dedicated to Wing Commander Fleetwood and Morris Buckingham. Vinyl NM; outer box VG+ with a small amount of wear.
