Geraldo (Gerald Walcan-Bright) was one of Britain’s foremost dance band leaders and a BBC institution from the late 1930s through the 1950s. This RCA Camden budget LP presents seven Broadway show medleys arranged for the dance floor in classic early-1960s easy listening style — quickstep, foxtrot, cha-cha, and waltz treatments of the biggest shows of the era: My Fair Lady, Gypsy, Can-Can, The King and I, Flower Drum Song, Finian’s Rainbow, and Destry Rides Again. Produced by Ben Selvin, one of the most prolific recording directors in early American popular music (Columbia Records); liner notes by Stanley Green, respected Broadway historian.
