One of the great honky tonk theme albums — twelve drinking songs from Oklahoma-born Hank Thompson, one of the most commercially successful country artists of the 1950s and early 60s. The title track A Six Pack To Go was a Top 10 country hit; the album leans hard into the barroom tradition with The Wild Side Of Life (Thompson's biggest hit, #1 country 1952), Warm Red Wine, Bubbles In My Beer, Hangover Heart, and two polkas — Beer Barrel Polka and Bartender's Polka. Produced by Ken Nelson; Canadian Capitol pressing; manufactured by Capitol Records (Canada) Ltd.; printed by Parr's. Mono. Small punch hole on cover.
