Factory sealed. The second INXS album — recorded before the band had broken outside Australia, and now one of the most sought-after early pressings in their catalogue. Recorded at EMI Studios 301, Sydney, July 1981; mixed at Paradise Studios, August 1981; mastered at Festival Studios by Paul Ibbotson. Produced by Richard Clapton, the Australian singer-songwriter who was already an established name in Australia when he produced this record — an interesting footnote in Australian rock history, as one of the country’s own artists helped shape the early sound of one of its most globally successful exports. The complete classic lineup: Michael Hutchence (vocals), Andrew Farriss (keyboards; primary songwriter), Tim Farriss (guitar), Kirk Pengilly (guitar and saxophone), Garry Gary Beers (bass), and Jon Farriss (drums and percussion). Backing vocals by Dave Mason and Karen Ansell; additional percussion by Keith Caisey; photography by Garry Gary Beers, Jon Farriss, and Tim Farriss — the band photographing themselves. North American release on ATCO Records, the Atlantic subsidiary that licensed the Australian Deluxe/RCA release for Canada and the US. Canadian Cinram pressing (Cinram logo stamped in runout alongside CR), manufactured and distributed by WEA Music Of Canada. Printed inner lyric sleeve included (sealed inside). Sealed — vinyl presumed Mint/unplayed; jacket in sealed condition as shown. A sealed Canadian pressing of a 1981 INXS album is genuinely scarce. Photos available upon request.
