In original cellophane — opened but Mint. A British new wave and power pop album with an exceptional session musician pedigree rooted in the British prog and art rock world. Jack Green is a British guitarist and vocalist, formerly of Cockney Rebel (Steve Harley’s band), and Reverse Logic is his RCA solo debut. The Cockney Rebel connection runs deep: keyboardist Brian Chatton and drummer Simon Fox are both Cockney Rebel alumni, reuniting here with Green. Bass is played by Ian Ellis, formerly of Curved Air. Saxophone by Mel Collins — the saxophonist from King Crimson’s Islands and Lizard era (1970–71) and a session player whose credits extend across British progressive rock; his presence here bridges the art rock world with the new wave production. Lead guitars by Andy Dalby and Pete Tolson (co-writer on several tracks). The studio chain is transatlantic: recorded February–April 1981 at The Music Works and Eel Pie Recording Studios in London (Eel Pie being the Twickenham studio associated with The Who and Pete Townshend), mixed at Sound Arts Recording Studio in Los Angeles, sequenced at 54 East Sound Recorders in Pasadena, and mastered at Kendun Recorders, Burbank — the highly regarded facility whose credits include the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac — by Greg Fulginiti. Cover concept by Jack Green and John Warwicker, who designed and photographed the sleeve; Warwicker later co-founded the design collective Tomato (best known for their work with Underworld).
