One of the most Beatles-saturated albums ever released outside the group itself — Jackie Lomax’s debut on Apple Records is a remarkable document of the Apple inner circle at full creative force. Produced primarily by George Harrison (who also arranged and performed throughout), with additional production by Paul McCartney and Mal Evans. The session roster reads like a who’s who of the era: George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Nicky Hopkins, Klaus Voormann, Hal Blaine, Larry Knechtel, Joe Osborn, and John Barham. Engineers include Geoff Emerick, Ken Scott, Barry Sheffield, and Armin Steiner. Sour Milk Sea (A5) was written by George Harrison and originally given to Lomax as the first Apple Records single in 1968. Factory sealed Jacksonville pressing (variant identified by “O” in runouts; stereo indicator to the right of centre hole).
