Canadian Columbia mono pressing of this showcase album from Jerry Murad’s Harmonicats — one of the most popular harmonica ensembles in mid-twentieth-century American popular music. The trio: Jerry Murad (harmonica), Al Fiore (chord harmonica), and Don Les (bass harmonica). The Harmonicats rose to national prominence with their 1947 recording of Peg O’ My Heart (one of the first independently produced records to top the US charts), and remained a staple of the easy listening and pop market through the 1950s and 1960s. This album draws on standards and pop favourites of the era: Mack The Knife, Fascination, Polka Dots And Moonbeams, Ruby, I’ll Never Smile Again, Ramona, Kiss Of Fire, and the title track Cherry Pink And Apple Blossom White.
