First pressing configuration: 39mm pressing ring; no Sheffield Lab Matrix in the runout — the earliest identifiable US copies on Discogs. Original cellophane wrap still present — a significant preservation detail for a 1980 pressing that adds meaningful collectibility. Los Angeles area promo distribution copy: gold circular promo stamp on bottom left front cover (“Promotional Copy Not For Sale”) and promo sticker on upper right (“Contains the Hit Song: (Just Like) Starting Over GHS 2001”). First US pressing with the incorrect track order on back cover — a well-documented pressing error on the initial run. Includes inner lyric sleeve. Released 17 November 1980 — three weeks before John Lennon was killed on 8 December 1980; the album won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1981.
