The debut LP from Compton rapper King Tee (King James Taylor III) — one of the earliest West Coast rap albums released on a major label. Produced for LA Posse Productions by DJ Pooh, who would go on to become Ice Cube’s primary creative collaborator and co-write the film Friday. Scratches by DJ Pooh and Keith Cooley; mixed by DJ Pooh, King Tee, and the engineering team. Mastered by Bernie Grundman at his eponymous Hollywood studio — the mastering engineer behind Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, Tupac’s All Eyez On Me, and the majority of West Coast rap’s canonical recordings. Photography by Glen E. Friedman — the photographer whose images defined the visual identity of both California hardcore punk (Black Flag, Suicidal Tendencies) and early hip-hop (Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy). SRC pressing plant (Michigan). Cover has a cut-out notch plus light shelf/edge wear; vinyl in near-NM condition with clean gloss and light handling only. VG+/VG+.
