A rare and visually striking Japanese picture disc reissue of Madonna's landmark second album — issued in Japan in 1987 as part of an exclusive three-title limited series alongside The First Album and True Blue. Produced by Nile Rodgers, mastered by Bob Ludwig at Masterdisk, with photography by Steven Meisel. The picture disc comes complete with the original obi strip, fold-out black & white photo lyric/notes insert (in English and Japanese), red backing card, pink heart-shaped informational sticker, and clear custom PVC outer sleeve. Genuine copies have a 5mm clear rim. Note: the dedication to "the virgins of the world" does not appear on this edition. As with all picture discs, slight surface noise is inherent to the format.
