The North American edition of PiL's landmark Metal Box — one of the most radical and influential records in post-punk history. Originally released in the UK as a limited edition triple 12" at 45 RPM in a round metal film canister, Warner Bros. reissued it in North America as a standard gatefold 2xLP at 33 RPM under the title Second Edition. The music is unchanged: John Lydon, Keith Levene, Jah Wobble, and Jeannette Lee across twelve tracks of abrasive, dub-inflected, avant-garde post-punk that obliterated everything that came before it. Albatross, Poptones, Careering, Swan Lake (a slightly different version of Death Disco), and Socialist are all here. Mastered at Sterling Sound; pressed at the Capitol Records pressing plant, Jacksonville. Note: although the catalog number is Warner Bros., the cover and labels use the Island logo.
