Factory sealed. Plant’s third solo album and his most adventurous departure from the Zeppelin template — leaning into electronic textures, layered synthesiser guitar, and new wave production aesthetics in a way that divided Led Zeppelin purists at the time but is now regarded as a genuine document of how Plant was pushing his own sound forward. Produced by Plant, Tim Palmer (who would later mix Pearl Jam’s Ten and Temple Of The Dog, and also co-produced Plant’s subsequent Now And Zen), and Benji Lefevre, Plant’s regular engineer and collaborator throughout the mid-1980s. Guitar by Robbie Blunt, Plant’s primary guitarist across three solo albums; drums by Richie Hayward — the drummer for Little Feat, one of the most respected rhythm section players in American rock; keyboards by Jezz Woodroffe. Additional vocals by Toni Halliday (Curve), who also appears on Now And Zen. Sleeve concept by Robert Plant; silk screen prints by Tim Elcoch. Mastered at Sterling Sound, NYC. Canadian Quality Records Limited pressing (“Qu” in runout), manufactured and distributed by WEA Music Of Canada Ltd.; printed by Ever Reddy (ER logo encircled on spine, Printed In Canada).
