Canadian RCA Victor Company Ltd. pressing of the original soundtrack to the 1958 20th Century Fox film adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific. Music by Richard Rodgers; lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II; music supervised, orchestrated, and conducted by Alfred Newman, with Ken Darby as associate conductor. Produced by Buddy Adler. Adapted from the stage play by Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, and Joshua Logan; based on Tales Of The South Pacific by James A. Michener. Living Stereo / Stereo Orthophonic High Fidelity Recording.

The 1958 film starred Rossano Brazzi and Mitzi Gaynor. Collectors’ note: several principal cast members were dubbed for the film — Juanita Hall (Bloody Mary, reprising her original stage role) was dubbed by Muriel Smith; John Kerr (Lt. Cable) by Bill Lee; Ken Clark (Stewpot) by Thurl Ravenscroft. Mitzi Gaynor and Ray Walston were the only principal cast members to use their own singing voices. Sixteen tracks including Some Enchanted Evening, Bali Ha’i, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair, I’m In Love With A Wonderful Guy, Younger Than Springtime, Happy Talk, and This Nearly Was Mine. VG vinyl; sleeve VG+ with minimal wear.
