Canadian RCA Inc. reissue (AYL1 budget reissue series) of The Kinks’ 1975 concept album — previously issued as AFL1-5102. Schoolboys In Disgrace is the concluding chapter of Ray Davies’ school/theatrical trilogy and the final album in The Kinks’ run of concept records for RCA. Written, arranged, and produced entirely by Ray Davies; engineered by Roger Wake. The brass section features Alan Holmes and Nick Newall (saxophone) and John Beecham (trombone). Photography by Chris Hopper; art direction by Pat Doyle. Ten tracks presented as a rock theatrical narrative tracing the backstory of Mr. Flash from the preceding Preservation albums — from schoolboy misadventure through expulsion: Schooldays, Jack The Idiot Dunce, the 7:07 centrepiece Education, I’m In Disgrace, Headmaster, No More Looking Back, and the brief Finale. Vinyl Mint; sleeve VG+ with a tiny bit of corner damage, otherwise near-perfect.
