Produced by The Monkees themselves — a reflection of the autonomy they won after the success of Headquarters (1967), their first fully self-produced record. Contains Daydream Believer (A5) — written by John Stewart of the Kingston Trio and one of the best-selling singles of 1967, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #5 in the UK; and Valleri (B5 — US #3, 1968). Arranged by Shorty Rogers — a significant West Coast jazz trumpeter, composer, and arranger whose session work bridged jazz and pop throughout the 1950s–1970s. Canadian RCA Victor Company Ltd. pressing (Montreal); mastered at RCA Studios, Toronto; printed by Ever Reddy. A Colgems Records production; all songs published by Screen Gems-Columbia Music Inc.
