Canadian Monarch-pressed Bell Records copy of the Partridge Family’s second studio album, released 1971. Produced by Wes Farrell; recorded at Western Recorders. The session lineup is a roll call of elite Los Angeles studio players: Hal Blaine on drums, Joe Osborn on bass, Dennis Budimir and Louie Shelton on guitar, Mike Melvoin on keyboards and string/horn arrangements — the same circle of musicians who defined the Wrecking Crew era of LA pop production. Backing vocals from the Bahler Brothers, Jackie Ward, and Ron Hicklin. Engineered by Bob Kovach; art direction by Beverly Weinstein. Lead vocals by David Cassidy and Shirley Jones. Eleven tracks including I’ll Meet You Halfway, Doesn’t Somebody Want To Be Wanted, That’ll Be The Day, and She’d Rather Have The Rain. Original release included a back-to-school book cover (not confirmed present). Vinyl NM; sleeve VG with small amount of edge wear.
