Eleven-track MGM/Verve era compilation drawing from the Righteous Brothers’ catalogue following their departure from Phil Spector’s Philles label — the period that produced You’re My Soul And Inspiration (A1 — written and produced by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, US #1 in 1966, widely considered the equal of their Spector recordings), alongside earlier material including Little Latin Lupe Lu (B2 — their first charting single, 1963) and Let The Good Times Roll (A4). Blue Verve label with VERVE Records in silver; pressed by MGM Record Manufacturing Division, identified by the blocky “S” stamp in the runouts. Art direction by Dick Smith; cover art by Robert Baxter. Engineering direction by Val Valentin — MGM’s Director of Engineering, a significant figure in the technical side of MGM’s recording operation through the 1960s. Published sources include Elvis Presley Music, Righteous Brothers Music, Acuff-Rose, Atlantic Music, and Screen Gems-Columbia. Vinyl VG+ with a couple of small scratches that do not affect play. Cover G+: whiteout present on cover — clearly visible defect, reflected in sleeve grade.
