The Seeds – The Seeds In Concert

Pickwick reissue of material originally released as Raw & Alive: The Seeds In Concert at Merlin’s Music Box (1968). Despite its concert billing, the album captures The Seeds performing live in the studio, with crowd noise added afterwards to recreate the atmosphere of a show.
Led by vocalist Sky Saxon, The Seeds helped define the sound of Los Angeles garage rock in the mid-1960s. Their insistent organ, raw guitar and distinctive vocals brought together psychedelic exploration and the restless energy that anticipated punk.
Highlights include “Pushin’ Too Hard” and an extended performance of “Up in Her Room,” capturing the band’s raw energy and hypnotic, organ-driven sound. An appealing title for fans of 1960s garage rock, proto-punk and American psychedelia.
