1979 Disneyland Records reissue of the original songs from Disney’s animated feature Lady And The Tramp (1955) — one of the most musically significant films in the Disney catalogue, featuring songs written by Peggy Lee and Sonny Burke. Peggy Lee voiced four characters in the film (Darling, the two Siamese cats Si and Am, and Peg) and co-wrote the score with Burke — her contribution to the film was so substantial that she successfully sued Disney decades later (in 1991) for home video royalties, winning a settlement reported at over $2 million. The songs are among the most enduring in Disney’s animated output: He’s A Tramp (B3 — sung by Peggy Lee as Peg), Bella Notte (B1 — the spaghetti dinner sequence, one of the most iconic scenes in Disney animation), Siamese Cat Song (A4 — co-written and performed by Peggy Lee), and La-La-Lu (A3).
